Ingredients

  • 1½ lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 2 green onions, sliced

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken: Toss the chicken pieces with black pepper and set aside while preparing the sauce.
  2. Cook the chicken: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook for 6–8 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown and cooked through.
  3. Make the ginger sauce: In a small bowl, combine soy sauce, honey, brown sugar, grated ginger, garlic, rice vinegar, and sesame oil.
  4. Add the sauce: Pour the sauce into the skillet with the chicken. Stir well and let it simmer for 2–3 minutes.
  5. Make it sticky: Mix cornstarch with water until smooth. Stir it into the skillet and cook for another 1–2 minutes until the sauce thickens and becomes glossy, coating the chicken evenly.
  6. Serve: Sprinkle the chicken bites with sesame seeds and sliced green onions. Serve hot with steamed rice, noodles, or vegetables.
